Job Description: Manages the base Environmental Management Office. Provides office staff direction and guidance for a broad range of environmental programs. Provides guidance and consultation to key base agencies. Applies experience and knowledge of petroleum products, lead-based paint, asbestos, waste water and drinking water treatment, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste storage and disposal, spill response, underground fuel storage tanks, environmental chemistry, site assessment, risk assessment, and remediation methods, ISO 14001 (environmental management system criteria), U.S. environmental regulations (including 40 CFR) and Final Governing Standards for Turkey.
Uses the Microsoft Office Suite for numerous purposes. Creates spreadsheets, with formulas and charts. Uses moderately complex Access databases. Uses strong online research skills as needed. Performs project planning and budgeting, creates 5-year plans.
Applies good writing skills to develop and write plans. Reviews complex reports prepared by sub-contractors and reviews and approves plans developed by the Environmental Management Office staff.
Qualifications:
Location: Moron, Spain
Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
Experience: 7 – 15 years managing a variety of environmental programs (protocols). 5 years supervisory experienced.
Education: BS or higher degree in Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university, or approved equivalent. Shall be registered as a PE or RA.
Security Clearance: Capable of obtaining ‘U.S. Secret’ security clearance.
